Breast augmentation (or breast reconstruction) involves the placement of breast implants to improve the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. Many women choose to undergo breast reconstruction after mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery. And, the most important question they ask is “what bra size will be perfect for me if I plan to get breast implants”? The answer varies from person to person based on what was your breast size before undergoing surgery, implant size, brand and style of bra and your body weight. Given all this, it is also necessary that you should know how to measure your bust size to get that perfect look along with an increase in size.
How the Sizing Works?
Breast implants are measured by volume using the unit – cubic centimetres or (“CC”). The higher the CC number, the bigger the implant size. The implant sizes typically start at around 100cc, and go up to 800cc or more. Breast implant sizes increase by 10 to 20cc intervals. Even after knowing your breast implant size, you cannot decide your bra size.
Following are the factors that influence the actual size increase:
- Implants’ base width
- Shape of the implants
- The width of your rib cage
- Shape and dimension of your natural breasts
The cup size of the bra you need to go with after breast reconstruction will differ from brand to brand and from one style to another. At Pink Ribbon, we have licensed and professional fitters certified by the Board for Certification. They have years of expertise in providing the perfect fit to all.
How to measure your bust size?
When it comes to accurately measuring your bust size, place the measuring tape at the fullest part of your bust. Make sure that the tape is parallel to your band. It is vital to know the bust size because:
- If you would like to improve the shape of your breasts
- You want larger breasts that feel natural
- You want to correct your uneven breasts
- You want upper breast fullness
- You want a slight increase in breast size
